VGGS 2024 will be focussed on strengthening GIFT City expand its global presence: PM Modi

THE FOCUS FOR VGGS IS SET. HERE IS WHAT WE KNOW

While addressing the media in the context of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the event will focus on making GIFT City even stronger on the global stage. GIFT City houses India’s first international financial services centre (IFSC), similar to what Dubai and Singapore have.

The Prime Minister said that in today's world, where countries are closely connected, there is a growing need for places like GIFT City where finance and technology services can be offered. Gujarat already has one such place, and it's getting more important every day. The government wants to work harder to make it even better and more competitive globally. So, this event will help in making GIFT City stronger and more known around the world.

Here is everything in the PM’s words, “In today’s deeply connected world, there is a rising need for finance and technology institutions. Gujarat already has a GIFT City whose relevance is growing by the day. GIFT City reflects our whole-government approach. Here, we have state, central governments, and IFSC Authority work together to form the best regulatory authority in the world.” 

“We should intensify efforts to make it a globally competitive financial marketplace. To achieve this, we can leverage our large domestic demand. The goal before VGGS is to further strengthen GIFT City to expand its global presence”
